A prime example of the growth of mobile wagering is William Hill’s third quarter results from 2014. In William Hill’s quarterly report, the company reported a 116 percent growth in mobile revenue. Gaming giant bwin.party recorded growth in its mobile gaming product in the third quarter of 2014 as well, with mobile gaming representing 23 percent of gross gaming revenue. In 2013, mobile gaming represented just 13 percent of gross gaming revenue. According to a 2014 report released by Google, the smartphone adoption rate in China is 70 percent. In Hong Kong, it’s 74 percent, and in South Korea it’s 80 percent. Singapore has an 85 percent adoption rate. Asia isn’t the only place where smartphone usage is high. The report shows a 68 percent adoption rate in the UK and 57 percent adoption rate in the US. MOBILE GAMING INDUSTRY OVERVIEW
